How and when will I receive my images

Once your photo session is complete it will generally take me up to 2 weeks to edit your high resolution photos, I will do my best to get them to you as soon as possible as I know how exciting it is to see the result and the anticipation is great to see them.

Once your  photo session gallery is complete, you will need to provide your preferred email address to me and download the Drop Box application on your phone or laptop/computer. I will sync the gallery to the app and you will be able to access your photo gallery and download them from there.  If you want the photos via USB, feel free to provide one on the day of the session and I will make a copy of your gallery onto the provided USB at an additional cost.

What do we do if it rains on the day?

Should the weather forecast turn bad and there is heavy rain/storms we will have to reschedule.

However if it is overcast or only a small drizzle we will continue with the photo session. Melbourne can be very unpredictable with weather, but often the unpredictable days make beautiful photography.

When should I book maternity and newborn photos

Maternity photos you can book whenever you feel is right for you, usually anytime between 32- 37 weeks.

If you're interested in pregnancy announcement photos let me know, I'd love to be part of your special news

Once baby arrives into the world, I recommend to book your newborn session between 1 - 3 weeks of age as a guide, however any time you feel ready will be perfect too.  You can book your newborn session prior to bub's arrival based off of due date, this way if bub arrives sooner or later I can be flexible with your booking date.

What time will my photo session be?

As an outdoor photographer, my photography is based on the light of the day. I prefer to shoot my sessions during the golden hour, which is 1 hour prior to sunset, or 1 hour after sunset. The golden hour provides a beautiful golden glow in your photos that cannot be achieved in the harsh midday light.

I understand sunset times won't suit some families, send me a message and I will do my best to accommodate you.

In home sessions will preferably take place mid morning.

What if my kids misbehave?

As  a mother myself I know too well the anxiety around kids misbehaving.

Treat your photo session as a fun adventure, tell your kids ahead of time if they are old enough, how much fun we will all have.

If the kids see that you are relaxed and having fun your children are likely to participate and join in.

I encourage lots of kisses,  big bear cuddles, laughter and smiles, these will give us the perfect shots.

With newborns if they need settling and feeding during our session, I am completely flexible and happy to work around you. I know life doesn't stop just to take photos.

I am a lifestyle photographer and posed styled shots are not my vibe. I don't want anyone to be forced to take these pictures, my aim is to be relaxed and have as much fun as we can. I work around you and your family. Playing games, dancing, picking flowers, jumping, exploring and making memories.

Use your session to connect with your family, enjoy your time together and leave the rest up to me.

What to wear?

The outfits you wear can really set the tone for your session.  My photography style and vibe favours neutral/muted and earthy tones.  Take into consideration the environment of your session location... Fields, Forest, Beach. Choose something that will complement your surroundings.

Avoid Bright/Bold patterns or logos as these can be distracting to the eye, instead try some textures in your fabric which can add layers to your photos too. Solid colours photograph beautifully and are timeless.

Some examples can be flowing dresses/skirts these add movement great effect into your session.

Add some accessories such as jewelry, hats or scarves which can add extra little details to your photos.

For guys I recommend to keep it simple.. Jeans/Chinos and a tee or shirt.

In home sessions dress casual and be comfortable.

The best advice I can give is to just be yourself,  wear what you would normally wear and are most comfortable in.  Keep in mind you will have these photographs to look back on for a lifetime and you wouldn't want to be anyone else but yourself.
